The Unit

The “Interdisciplinary First-Semester Orientation” (FUESE) aims to make it easier for all first-year students at Ulm University to get started with university life. The FUESE complements the individual departmental first-semester orientations (Fachschafts-ESE events) and gives you the opportunity to experience university from a different perspective, meet fellow students, get an overview of what everyday life at university is like, and discover what your new place of residence has to offer. To make this possible, we offer three days of activities for first-year students from Wednesday to Friday during the final week before the winter semester begins, following the departmental ESEs.

It’s a lot of fun to experience university from this perspective, and it’s a great opportunity to build your first social circle at the university within just a few days – both among students in your year and among students from higher semesters.

The Tutors

If you’ve already completed your first few semesters, enjoy meeting new people, and would like to have fun as part of a team, you can become a tutor yourself and help the new first-year students get off to a great start with university life. You can find more information in our tutor section, where the registration link will also be posted at the end of the summer semester. We look forward to having you join us!
